I DON'T MISS THIS!

“I don’t miss this at all!” was the first thing I said to myself as I got my basic busking gear onto a crowded bus this morning despite rather looking forward to doing it once more before these memoirs come to an end this week!

These memoirs starting off as busking and gigging ones ….so they may as well end that way too and seeing as I will be at Jade’s all day tomorrow before we play our first open mic together in the evening and that I will be recording Rachael’s album on Wednesday to Friday morning ….today is the only day I have left!

So….despite the crowded bus experience….let’s see how it goes!

It’s a sunny, rather warm day and most of all…it’s nice and early in the morning at 9:15!

Ian will be joining me as he’s already there and I hope Leo will be too!

Eating rice with soy sauce, getting to know a potentially new flatmate and I’ve just emailed ‘Mesmerize Me’ to some followers who would be willing to review it…obviously, it’s 18:05.

I caught up on some more sleep pretty much instantly once I had gotten back home from busking and whether it’s a cold or warm day…Darracott Road always seems to welcome me with either a really freezing route or a rather humid one!

Albeit Ian deciding not to return to sing some numbers with me due to him not being comfortable with the heat….I continued busking as I would’ve done anyways.

Taking my reused litre bottle of water with me was a good call as that helped me to keep my larynx lubricated thus, able to sing longer.

Seeing familiar faces was a nice feeling and even though the Romanian Big Issue vendor donated today’s first tip….it wasn’t long until I remembered that he was going to ask me if I am single etc and how complicated it would be to explain those kind of things because of the language barrier!

As well as him, there were only another 2 people who stood there talking to me whilst wanted to focus on busking but it was a good opportunity to be assertive and tell them that I’d like to continue.

It was a nice surprise to be approached by at least 1 person and a couple who had heard me performing my own ambient songs to tell me how much they appreciate them.

They also understood why I was just playing cover songs!

Around the time that Leo had turned up, a senior lady turned up as well and donated to me before telling me she was hesitant to do so just incase I am dependent on alcohol or drugs!

Fortunately, she stayed and listened to me singing songs by David Bowie, Iggy Pop and more before telling me she vaguely recognises them.

Seeing as Leo had decided to buy his electric guitar back from the nearby pawn shop and do a 1 song busk himself with his small amp….I took that time to play a few more numbers before packing up….finding a 24 toilet roll bargain from Sainsbury’s and then heading back home by bus…

….oh, and it felt great to be able to spend my rewards again!

The big question is …will I ever go busking again?

Who knows?

Who cares?

I don’t!

Or….do I?

EARNINGS: £13.91 (mostly thanks to deciding to play a few Beatles numbers!)
